Join us on farm for our first Community Herbalism Project—making “Fire Cider”! Some remedies are best made collectively, and fire cider is one of them. A folk recipe with a long history of use, fire cider is an herbal vinegar that boosts the immune system and keeps illness at bay, especially through cold and flu season. You can cook with it, use it in salad dressings, or take a medicinal “shot” at the first onset of illness. A must-have in any herbal apothecary.
Please bring a quart sized mason jar and approximately a quart of organic apple cider vinegar with “the mother”. Be ready to help chop, grate, and prep! We will supply the rest of the herbal ingredients—onions, garlic, horseradish, ginger, lemons, and cayenne. (We can provide all supplies, if necessary; please select the correct type of registration.) **Must register in advance by 10/13/20.**
Materials Fee: $15 for basic materials (herbs only); $25 for all supplies (jar, vinegar, herbs)
