Join north fork herbalist April Alexander and “farmden”er Nicole Orens-Williams for a full day herbal intensive in the medicinal herb garden featuring all three classes in the Herbal Basics series. At the end of this very full day, participants will know how to harvest, dry, process, and store their home-grown herbs, make them into herbal “simples” such as tinctures and oils, and use the simples to formulate herbal remedies such as teas, syrups, salves, and more! This class is perfect for anyone ready to get going with herbs and wanting to jump-start his or her own home apothecary.

This is a brief demonstration on how we braid the farm's garlic (using up our "seconds" garlic--bulbs that have split and are not perfect).
When: Saturday, August 24th, 11am (during Ugly Plant Sale)
Cost: Demo is free. If you'd like to braid your own, $15 while supplies last.
End of season sale! Lots of hardy herbaceous perennials still hanging in there. We've planted out all of next season's perennial medicinal herbs beds and these are the extras. Many difficult to find medicinal herbs--comfrey, arnica, motherwort, marshmallow root, boneset, wormwood, echinacea, tansy, feverfew, alpine strawberries, hyssops, mints, and tons more!
